Even within the same year, make and model, subtle design alterations can result in part number changes that aren’t obvious. They might know the correct year, make and model, but there is often much more to it than that. ![]() And you can’t rely on your customers to have the answers. Returned product, often chalked up as a defect, can usually be traced back to incorrect product or application information at the time of the order. So how do you know? It’s all in the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), and if you can’t decode it for your customers, you might end up sending out the wrong parts.
